Parkes Observatory

Did you know that SafeMate Anti-Slip has been proud to supply some of its products for the famous telescope at Parkes?

The stair nosing product was used. A fun bit of information is that in 1962, the telescope tracked the first interplanetary space mission, Mariner 2, as it flew by the planet Venus and in July 1969 it was a prime receiving station for the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. Most recently, in 2018-2019, the telescope supported NASA’s Canberra Deep Space Communication complex in receiving data from Voyager 2 as the spacecraft crossed into interstellar space.
